Oh that was you who we saw at the top of pole line and didn’t wave back. Also seemingly didn’t register for ecxc. The shoe fits.
?? I waved and talked directly to a couple in your group. If I missed another wave while I was watching where I was walking to look at the lines it wasn’t personal - it was because I didn’t want to break an ankle and didn’t see it.

I didn’t register because I didn’t know I was coming until a week ago and couldn’t make it for the entire thing, and will be leaving here before the Saturday night dinner. So no, I didn’t register and pay an extra $65 to do exactly what I’m doing today. I primarily came up because a buddy was coming up to buy parts from @SledheadX and we’d never been to Rausch before so it worked out.

Everybody I’ve spoken to and hung out with has been friendly and it’s been a good time. I guess I know now not to expect that from everyone. I’ll keep waving back when I see waves though.

Don't kill yourself. Do your job, get your money, leave the rest at the door.
But that's just not the American way. You gotta be willing to turn control of your life over to your ungrateful employer who for any reason they like could fire you at any time, who expects you to work any number of hours per week all while paying you too little for the responsibility they laid on you, so you could help them be more profitable with no intent of sharing that profit with any of you peons who made them the money in the first place, so that those who do the least get the most and you can struggle to make your payments and live a life. That's the American way.

Maybe I should have posted that in the "let it out" thread?

You're not wrong. I just don't get it. Never have. It's one of the reasons why I don't have a lot of ambition to change jobs at the moment. I work from home. I'm mostly left to my own devices. And they pay me well. Is there bullshiat? Yes. Is it enough bullshiat for me to go back to a job where I have a commute and have to deal with people? No.

I get crazy annoyed when I talk to my friends in Europe. They start out with more vacation than I get after 10+ years with a company and when they have been there 10 year have like a month and a half or more. America really does have some messed up work crap. I make less now than I did 15 years ago percentage wise. They have made mechanics a flat hourly rate on your flat rate. So lets say 25 and hour - Techs used to get a percentage of the shop hourly rate and a percentage of parts sold. With shop rates in or pushing the 200 an hour rate I'd be making some serious coin. Don't get me wrong I'm not starving but they managed to cut us out of what we had for sure. If you ask for a raise it's - " You want more money flag more hours"

Yep. When my job is hot and heavy, it can suck because I have people all over the country, employees, clients etc. So on top of multiple time zones, people also now have the mentality of thinking they can reach you anytime because of smart phones. I use to answer calls, emails, texts, etc damn near 24/7. But it was not sustainable mental wise or physical wise. I got back to having set hours unless it is a real emergency. Calling me before 7:30am? Too bad leave a message. Calling me after 5:30pm? Too bad leave a message.

so much happier and healthier now since doing that.

I'm lucky to work maintenence. I get paid by the hour, period. Which is lucky because most days I don't FIX anything because they won't buy me parts or shut down to let me fix anything. Many many hours, probably 3/4 of my worked hours over the last 13 years have been either troubleshooting a problem that doesn't exist (operational issue), finding a problem and not being allowed to fix it because it would affect production numbers, or riding around the mill digging through dumpsters looking for enough parts to build what I need to fix an emergency.

We'll just finished updating my ASM tracker / buy excel sheet to now include daredevil series 1. Going to chase and try to finish that series as well as ASM.

I only have a handful of ASM's needed and they're going to be damn near unachievable.

Back home. I think I hit all but one skid, both sliders, the rear diff, and a shock skid or leaf spring bash plate once. Fun overall, but stressful during. I was most concerned about my p-rated tires but they made it.
nice! Was this your first time wheeling or just first at Rausch? I think you've wheeled before but can't remember.

On top of this because it just happened....just because you, Karen or Chad, drug out getting me what I need till 3 days before a deadline well after I told you my team would need a week minimum for completion once received, is not a 911 fire drill / emergency on my part.

Just first at Rausch. We did greens on the NE property today. All the stuff I’ve done prior though is very mild in comparison other than like 2-3 spots on one trail in VA. This was like those 2-3 spots but stretched over miles.

Movie ends. Lady's iPhone screen lights up so bright in front of me that I can read every word. Apparently one of her friends is having a domestic issue. Somebody is drunk and violent. Doesn't sound like a good time.

Built a cage for a 4', 35lb Nile monitor today. All fun till we moved the 3/4" treated plywood. That shiat is heavy!received_348941037429789.jpeg
There's an enclosure with a 600gal tank in it in this garage with a curious Caiman crock who watched us all day until I busted out the camera..
