Unfortunately, proprietary Drobo Pro 8 bay. The enclosure took a dump. Found a few temp fixes that I can try to resurrect the array just long enough to get the data off of it.
Probably going to go to an OWC box running softraid.
I really like the drobo platform though. It's super flexible and this unit has been reliable for over 10 years. Just not something I was prepared to spend money on right before Xmas.
I get it. I can count the number of random hardware failures I've experienced on one hand. I have an old hp n54l microserver here that has pretty much been running nonstop for about 12 years, and not given me an issue.
I did have an esata jbod enclosure that had a psu failure at one point. I opted to move that array to another system internally, since it just ran a Linux software raid.
I now use a z2 array on truenas, but it was originally built on proxmox. I appreciate and understand the support that comes with proprietary systems, but I prefer the open nature and ability to move/replace parts as needed for my own use.
I.do need to start migrating from my 3tb drives though....
