If it's not one thing is three others.

Going to get the low boy inspected tomorrow. Hooked it up to the big truck and got all the lights working. Took it on a little jont to grind the corrosion off the brake drums and one of the braking axle hubs was hotter than the rest.

Gave it a shake and it was loose.

Pulled it apart when I got back and the bearings were going out. TSC had them on the shelf so $40 later it has new wheel bearings in that hub. I need to pull the other three and grease them pretty soon. Don't know that it's been done since we've owned the trailer.

4 night trip last weekend, and a 3 night trip this weekend. And I still have 1.5 weeks of vacation left. Heading into north central Nevada with the dog in the morning. Should be fun. And hawt. So happy I got the A/C fixed in the truck.

Make sure you put some bracing on the inside. Too much flexing of the sheet metal will cause cracks.
I have 3/16” thick 3” wide steel pieces from Home Depot I’ll cut to as long as possible while staying flat. Also debating whether to do rubber washers with a steel washer in the middle. I need to space it out a little from the hatch, or take off the badge since the badge is preventing the fuel pack from sitting flush. But I don’t want to add flex.
Have you upgraded your struts yet?
I did the Maxpow, which was a huge improvement, but just a trasharoo with a portable toilet in it slowed it back down. I need to find the listing for the 200# struts. Or maybe higher.
Especially considering the sheet metal on the Xterra is flimsy as tin foil.
Just pushing on the bump on the hatch it flexed quite a bit. So much now I’m less confident in the whole thing. Even if I did the larger backing plate I don’t think it will make a difference since I’m doing steel on the inside.
