Well did my first DIY that i think is all original thought. I got tired of people stealing gas outta my car and I had a locking cap at once but everyone I had never sealed properly and threw an engine code so I threw it away. My mom and the rest of my family has bully locking doors and I wanted that for the X but they dont make those so i made my own with my own lock then cut a hole for it to lock in place at.

A little update. 3 gallons of bedliner has made its way into my hands :) now just waiting to figure out what color I want my X to be. Its either the stock molten lava, the 2012 blue metallix xterra color, or lime green.....decisions decisions decisions lol

See all my first time mistakes are starting to show and I had been planning on rebedlinig anyways to fix them like the chunks, some light areas I didnt see because of poor lighting, and some chipping because the scuff pads didnt do the job in prepping. This new bedliner I got I can color match it to any paint code where as the Monstaliner I could only pick from colors they supplied. I was gonna pull the trigger and go Jeep Gecko Green until I got the price.....$103 a quart for the gecko vs $28 for the stock Molten lava. So guess which one I picked lol Also I told the guy that the manufacturer said " base tint color no binders" this had everyone there stunned and confused as to how it will work so he gave me my paint for FREE! He didnt seem convinced that it would work and said just bring the vehicle back when youre done because I wanna see this lol If I would have known it would end up being free I would have got Gecko Green lol

I'm seriously considering using monstaliner on my X. I've got so many pinstripes down the side, they wont buff out any more lol. I can't decide if I want to have someone spray it or roll it on myself.

If your going to do it.. Do it right..
I'd save up and pay for a shop to do it

That's what I was thinking. I like monstaliner because the texture isn't too rough. I like the durability of bedliner but some are just too gritty.

The reason I went to Raptor Liner the second time around is that Raptor is a tougher being a different compound, I can tint it to any color I please, and the fact its cheaper. I paid $320 for 2 gallons of monstaliner and im $360 in on 3 gallons of Raptor Liner. Also I liked that Raptor Liner splits their gallons into four separate bottle to prevent excess product harden before being used like what happened to me with my chunks. I was gonna have it Line-X'd until I called them up and asked how much to bedline my X would be and they said between $3-4k thats black and if I wanted colored it would cost more. So DIY was the option I went with

Also raptor can be rolled or sprayed. I chose to spray so I can get a nice texture and you can change the texture you want by changing the psi at which you spray the raptor

Future Game Plan!
*in order for now
1.Calmini HD Steering and replace worn steering like new idler arm etc
2.Piece together SL or buy a whole kit still unsure especially with hearing ACs UCA eating Bjs
3.33x12.50x15 Nitto Trail Grapplers (found them way cheaper than 285s)
4.Buy some 15" steel wheels with street lock (I like that look then sell my XD Hoss...any takers one day?)
5.Have an all out mod day with some X'ers and go from stock to lifted and 33s in one weekend
6.Do some exhaust work like headers, cat delete, new muffler
7.RLC Fab front bumper
8.of course more bedliner!!!!

Looks better than mine
What we did for my brothers truck was use the Rustoleum in the gallons from walmart and instead of using the rollers in the kit we used the monstaliner rollers which. Gave an awesome texture and is smooth and he gets compliments a lot. I would have done this if it came in colors and not just black.

Easy fix for the color thing, is colored spray paint for metals.

Black bedline, then just a few coats of whatever color you want. Holds up decently well too.

Yeah I know we did that for my brothers truck with the blue and it came right off because it has a hard time binding to the smooth bedliner. plus I like the rougher texture better and its a one step spray and not bedline, wait, paint and remask the car, then wait to dry again

To the smooth bedliner?

What.

What brand did you use? I've had mine on for about 4 months now and it hasnt shown any fading or chipping at all.
Albeit, its just the gas door but still.

Its rustoleum done with Monstaliner rollers and the paint is Rustoleum sail blue and no its around the fenders. but its been on for like almost a year and cost only $10 to fix so my brother doesn't really care but me it would kill lol
