Anyone a resident there ? I started in 10/2007 and have created a lot of content, owned land, had a store, and collected hot rods, vintage bikes etc - all could be driven "in-world."

Since about 2009 I have participated in roleplay and combat and have belonged to various groups within that subworld. Most of us use skype or ventrilo while on raids or just hanging around camp with others.

I have met and had great chat with people from all over the world.

It's a fun place , especially if you know how to make things.

you can spend a decent amount if you upgrade your avatar. The basic one is toonish, mine looks like a real human shrunk down and placed in the screen :D

I bet some of you won't admit it :) I've stumbled across co-workers there who then sheepishly admitted it was them. The media has given SL some bad press on all the shennanigans people get up to. Let's just say you can do everything from build a castle or a house, fight a dargon and well. um, a...um...yeah.

I started, then just couldn't invest the time it looked like it was going to take. I have a couple of friends who are, or at least used to be, deeply involved in it.

LOL That's what made me check it out. That episode where Dwight was into SL and then created "Third Life" inside of Second Life for those truly alienated from society LOL

My friend who "rezzed" at same time as me found the Avatar they created that looked just like Dwight for the show. The guy was stull running him (it didnt have a custom name like Dwigfht Shrute although you could buy vanity names back then.)

Made a lot of friends in UK, Australia, Germany and Canada there. It's worldwide.

I forgot to mention Halloween is a blast . A friend of mine had made up custom zombie skins, clothing etc. We created dedicated Zombie avatars as the last name "Reanimator" was available at that time :) I was a zombie doctor--blood spattered lab coat , stethoscope, name tag (Dr. Goodlife" lol)

TOTAL threadjack but "Reanimator" - one of the all-time best movies. Evar. (For its genre) OK, back to 2ndLife... :p

Reanimator rules. Big fan of "Return of the Living dead" too

Get the anniversary DVD . In the widescreen version you can see them, working the half remains of the Zombie puppet on the lab table :D
