Seat options

Ok, my driver side seat is really worn out what options do I have when it comes to correcting the problem. The biggest problem I am having is the lumbar support bracket is digging in to my kidneys when driving; I don't use it anyhow because it causes my back to hurt.

Get some seat covers from coverking of katzkins and when you have your factory seat cover off remove the lumbar support from the seat back.

I've read that Roadwire is a better value than Katzkins, anybody have an opinion on either company?

I found some tactical covers by coverking about $500 less than katzkin. Just don't know if they are what im looking for I will post a link in a few.

Check a local salvage yard for a wrecked Xterra, Pathfinder, or Frontier that you can pull the seats from. Hell, you might even be able to adapt seats from some other model. Leather seats from a Late 90's or newer Maxima would be super nice if in decent condition. I had some in my Ranger. Best mod I ever made to that truck.

So is it possible to switch the drive and passenger seats?
But.... Why? The tilt control would be impossible to get to.

It's really a shame that the seats are so different between gens. It'd be awesome to throw some Pro4X leather in a 1st gen.

The Maxima seats (or another Nissan of the same era) are something I hadn't considered through. Almost anything would be more comfortable than the stock 1st gen seats.

I know of one pull a part place that has 3 xterras but if I remember right they were missing the doors I would have to look for a maxima. How would you be able to tell if the seat would fit without buying first?

Only advice I can think of for that is to take your seat out and measure the bolt holes that bolt the seat to the bracket. When I put Maxima seat in my Ranger, I had to have a buddy weld up an adapter plate. If you have someone that can do that for you, all you need to do is find seats you like that fit between the center console and the door. They can be from anything, Maxima, Altima, some Infiniti, or Toyota or Lexus or Acura. Whatever.
