Also, as much as I love Rausch, I think there needs to be serious thought into other locations (AOAA). I think the cost of rausch is prohibitive for someone who is new to the hobby and just learning.Yes! This is always my hope. I get very little more than aggravation helping to organize a few events or by posting these announcements.
It seems more and more as though we go run trails with the same groups of friends. This is always fun but does nothing to help keep the interest alive in our preferred make/model vehicles or hobby.
ECXC is the one exception and then folks complain when their non-Xterra is not welcome...
NEXterra members continue to help organize events, secure venues, try to set up trail groups and trail leaders, once in a while put together an event logo, shirts, stickers and then post to this and the few other Xterra boards still around.
Giving folks new to this silliness an opportunity to try it out with a friendly, welcoming group is a small way of giving back to a club and community that welcomed us when we started down this trail.
There is certainly no fortune or fame, more like a negative balance, ridicule from our more hardened wheeling buddies and disappointment in, what appears to be, lack of interest.
I changed the title of this thread, maybe it will help...
I'm interested! I was going to attend this event last year and I had a suspension upgrade go long and wasn't road ready.

Don't think I could have said it any better.Anyway, the TLDR is:
We would love to help.
We wish there were more events.
Sorry, we are jerks.
Since you continue to view this somehow as the greatest offense ever, allow me to inform you of the exact circumstances. You nor anyone else has simply asked "why" we didn't sign up, so I'll tell you. And to clarify, I don't wonder at all why you have a problem with me, as you've made it readily clear many times since then on this and other forums.much less "clickish" than some groups that just show up to an event without even signing up, don't help or participate, do their own thing and then wonder why they're disliked
This is literally the first time I’ve ever brought it up, responded to it, or even acknowledged it since the event, so I vote just let it goToo much to respond at the moment. I'm not in charge but personally I'm willing to let it all go if that's cool or respond if it's not. Call it.
I've been wanting to go to rausch and or aoaa. rausch seems to have a lot of rock crawling (at least the media i see on event pages) and I'm more into the "overlanding" scene with nice trails/scenery (not trying to break my xterra 4 hours from home). also it's expensive for one day and my X is a gas guzzler so driving 3-4hrs one way and pay all the fees just keeps me from going but I do want to go eventually. Also, as much as I love Rausch, I think there needs to be serious thought into other locations (AOAA). I think you would be happy with and have a blast on the green trails at either park.I've been wanting to go to rausch and or aoaa. rausch seems to have a lot of rock crawling (at least the media i see on event pages) and I'm more into the "overlanding" scene with nice trails/scenery (not trying to break my xterra 4 hours from home). also it's expensive for one day and my X is a gas guzzler so driving 3-4hrs one way and pay all the fees just keeps me from going but I do want to go eventually.
