Supplies:
Drill
Metal Drill Bits (because drill bits made of Plastic Melt)
Raingler Shelf -- This can be had at this link
2 Footman Loops & Screws -- Possibly delivered with the shelf
...
The Install is pretty straightforward but you need the footmans installed, because the factory cargo D ring in not strong enough and will pull out.
So there are 2 options Remove the factory D ring.
To do this you take a very small flat head screwdriver and slide it into the small opening and the center will pop out will very little force. Then you can pull out D ring and cover it up if you want to with a push plug similar to the ones that hold the grill in.
OR
Option 2
Leave it in as I did.
I found that leaving the factory D ring in didnt seem to bother me or hinder me in installing the Footman loops. So If you figure out where you want them mark it and drill, be gentle dont drill thru more than one layer of metal, first will be the plastic then the metal, do this again for the second hole. Then do the other side.
Next screwin’ the screws -- haha
You can do this by hand or drill, if you use a drill DO NOT STRIP THE HOLE, I used an adjustable torque setting on my drill, think it was set at like 7 and it goes to 30 or something that. Now that your footman loops are secure you are ready to sinch up your shelf amd make it secure.
One set of straps connect to the rear seat back loops, One set of straps connect to the footman loops, and the final set should connect to either your utili-track floor hooks, or the ceiling hooks however you want to use it.
Its awesome!
Tada! you now have a functioning shelf in the back of you X!
Mine is Slightly Different as I have a preproduction model but yours will probably look like this
If you need any help feel free to PM me
Cheers!
