Problems with fueling up??

When getting gas the gas pump keeps shutting off like my tank is full. I pump for a few seconds and you can here it filling up (like its full) and shuts off. You only get a few cents in at a time. Anybody know what this could be?? Its really a pain in the rear!

Sounds like a pump problem...is it only one particular gas station, or all of them? If it's all of them, there may be an obstruction somewhere..

Its happened 3 times now, 3 different gas stations. It doesn't happen all the time though.

My guess is there's something amiss with the purge canister or the purge valve. I assume that's what's in that XOC thread posted above me, but I'm too lazy too bother clicking it.

Subscribed for the end results of this problem, hope it is not your fuel tank like in the link above.

Wonder if it would have anything to do with the FSU...call a dealer and give them the VIN, see if the recall work was done on your truck for the Fuel Sending Unit.

That has already been done. Unfortunately I didn't get that recall and broke down traveling. When the shop was fixing it they came across the recall and I had to fight with Nissan for a refund.

Yes. My husbands cousin has an xterra (she would never get on here. Hers is a "car") and she told me about that recall. I have updated my info with the dealership a few times. I hope if there is anymore I actually get them before its too late.

Since we are on this subject now I just wanted to clarify this statement: You really have to call the 1-800-NISSAN1 to update your address with your VIN to make sure you get notifications for this type of stuff.

Thank you! I will call them then. The dealer told me my info was updated.

The hubby started looking at it yesterday but ran out of time. I'm glad he's home for a week next time. I can only get about $20 worth of gas in it at a time and it takes forever! We all know how long that lasts in our gas guzzlers. Its gonna be a long 2 weeks.
