Oil help

I was offroading today and my oil light came on. I recently replaced the valve gaskets so I know it's not that. Also I can't find any oil leaking from the X and when I checked the dip stick it showed that I have oil. Any ideas?

possible computer error. you may just need to reset your computer. especially if you have the airbag, ABS, 4WD, etc lights on. there are some youtube videos on how to reset your computer. I would do that first, especially if you have oil

Did you go through any deep water or any water at high speed that caused big splashes? If so you could have just gotten some water in the electrical connector on the oil pressure sending unit. Not sure what year your X is but on 2000-2004's with the V6 it's the connector right near the oil filter.

Having water get into the connector and cause the oil light to come on is sort of a common thing on the Gen 1/1.5 trucks.

like church said, just give it a day or 2 and it should dry out. Don't do like I did the 1st time and freak out, and go replace the oil sending unit lol

Disconnect, and shoot it with some dielectric grease spray. Get some water displacing action going on! I ran into this issue too, it was no biggie.

Yeah. Steep angle or water will set off the oil light.

I let it sit awhile and reset the computer and that worked. Thanks for the advice everyone.
