So here's the deal. We want every X possible to come to nXm this year. So I'm running a competition.

Who drove the farthest to get to nXm3?!

Here's how it works:
1) Go to Google Maps (http://maps.google.com)
2) In the search bar type your origin city and state to Windrock Road Oliver Springs, TN
- Mine for example reads: "Portsmouth, VA to Windrock Road, Oliver Springs, TN"
- Do NOT alter the route. I will go back and check that the mileage you post is the first and shortest route that Gmaps comes up with

3) Once you get your map w/ the purple line click the link button in the upper left corner

4) In the popup, be sure to check the box for "Shorten URL"

5) Copy and paste that link to this thread in a post that includes your origin city, state, and mileage that was given to you by Google Maps
6) ACTUALLY SHOW UP TO nXm!!!!!
7) Bring some kind of proof that your origin city is correct as listed in your entry.

The person that has the top mileage as listed on Google Maps, supplies all of the info in this thread, and can prove that their origin city is correct will win......

ONE COMPLETE FULL TANK OF GAS! YOUR CHOICE OF GRADE!!

No BS. It'll be your reward for driving the farthest to get to nXm.

Entries will be accepted until the Sept 1st registration cutoff.

And btw....even if you look at those numbers and think, "I'm not going to win so I won't bother"

Post the info anyway. Just so we can have an impressive list of attendees and lots of map lines.

I want to know where everyone is coming from. I have a few interesting ideas for this geographic data.

Well for some retarded reason, my "short link" is still super long. No matter how many times I try, it still is super long. And when I click the Link Logo, It's not letting me type in what I want.

Anyway... Mine is 566 miles - 8 1/2 hrs pending traffic.

Here's a picture:

I'm not winning any shortest distance award and no where near a longest drive. 97.7 mi, 2 hours 2 minutes. I'm glad I did this. The way I was planning to go is 124 mi, 2 hours 9 minutes. Not much difference on time or mileage really but with the first one I'd be taking a much more rural route and saving about two gallons of gas each way. The scenery and staying off the interstate makes it worth trying.

If I were leaving Wednesday, I would...but I'm leaving Thursday at the crack of dawn to be there before the first "flight" leaves at 10.
