nXm Roomie Thread 2012

Post up here if you are looking to lodge with another Xer to save money for the trip. There are a few different options. Windrock Park Campground (http://www.windrockpark.com/) is the first option. It is also the best option, since they have both campgrounds and cabins.

Primitive camping with use of the bathouse is $16 per night for 2 people. This means that if you split a campsite with someone, for Thursday-Saturday nights, you would only spend $24 plus tax in lodging each. Each additional person is $3 per night, so if you share a campsite with 3 other people. The cost per night per person is only $5.50 per night or $16.50 plus tax for the week.

They also offer cabins, which have bathrooms and kitchenettes. They are $100 per night and sleep 4, so if you split with 3 other people. the cost for the week would be $75 plus tax each.

There are other campgrounds, but Windrock Park is the best choice since it has many different options and since it is where a lot of nXm's events will be.

So, if you need someone to room with post up here in the following format to keep it organized.

tdx, there isnt anything on their sites with a limitation of tents per campsite, but I will call tomorrow and confirm what we are looking at on the site.

I kinda figured there wasn't. Thats why I deleted the post and just added my name to the list. I guess they might have a concern with the number of vehicles per site, That's what I really wanted to ask I guess.

For the three looking at primitive or a cabin by the time you split it three ways you could probably get a cabin to share for pretty close to the cost to camp.

I forgot to call the campground to check on the restrictions on a single campsite. I will get to that this week and get back with you all.

I have camping gear so Primitive is fine with me. I put cabin only because of security reasons for items that you don't take on the trail. Are the cabins lockable and does each occupant get a key. Does that sound bad, like I don't trust people? Sorry if I did.

I actually stayed in the cabins at our last CC run for that reason and yes they give out multiple keys to the ones staying in the cabin. The doors do lock and I even had stuff sitting on the porch and on my trailer and didn't have any issues.

Sounds good to me. No TKD didn't sound bad to me, granted the Army has trained me that way.

I'm gonna check out the page tonight and see if they have an email. Phones are finicky so its not always the greatest call quality. But I'm most likely just gonna go ahead and reserve a primitive until we see what comes out of Dave talking to them. I got no issues sharing the spot though.

Ok reservation is in for the 19th through the 23rd. She said canceling wont be an issue if Dave is able to get the large area for everybody.
