Pulled the heat shield off of the passenger exhaust manifold. Large obvious crack.

Yea.. Went with the Doorman replacement manifold. Lifetime warranty. $70. Just spent mod monies on p&p sliders.

Seems ok. Time will tell. I can say that after jacking with trying to get my old one out for a couple hours I gave up and it's going to a mechanic in the morning.

You have a body lift too, correct? My understanding is that it makes it easier, I'm hoping to be able to knock it out myself but we'll see lol

Yes it's mostly about the fact that everything in front of the y-pipe has to come off to get to the center bottom bolt in the manifold. That means both O2 sensors then both cats. Then you can get to all the bolts. Can't even imagine trying this without having the body lift. Rusty exhaust bolts suck. If I had air tools I may have not given up.

Fair enough. The noise that mine makes isn't as pronounced as yours, hence why it's low on my priority list. Nevertheless, it's something that needs to done. Let us know how it all turns out
