Hello everyone!
I've been working on my uncle's X-Terra with him for a few months. We put the new grill and headlights in together. He passed away 1/11/23 and I was fortunate enough to inherent the X-Terra. It is a great blessing as we live off of a dirt road that gets washed out pretty badly every time it rains because the water flow is not managed well and we don't have a tractor to fix it. I have already used the 4High once to get through a difficult spot. I can tell that I'm going to love this X-Terra! I have been off-roading for as long as I can remember and was thinking that it would be fun to make this a more extreme 4x4! To my knowledge it's stock, with the big tires it looks like it has a lift but I think I'm just used to seeing 2WD models. The noticeable issues right away are that the electrical in the center stack seems wonky. When I turn on the headlights the climate control doesn't always illuminate, I'll have to take it apart and see if I can find a loose connection/wire. The stereo is a Boss Touchscreen that works occasionally but sometimes just turns off out of nowhere with a loud pop from the speakers. Both of these issues might be related to the same problem? Above the rear view mirror is the Exterior temperature and direction which sometimes adjusts brightness when the headlights are turned on but not always. The leaver on the left of the steering wheel has no notches left so it's possible to have the low beams, high beams, and fog lights all on at the same time. It's a nice feature but I'll replace that 1st so that I'm not accidentally turning on the brights all the time. The emergency kit bag is there but is empty so I'll have to buy supplies and fill it. I've been modifying vehicles since high-school and look forward to doing a lot with this gift from my uncle, I just wish he was still here to work on it with me.
