If I lift my truck 2" I can put 33s on. No problem. Here's the question if I add 2" body lift I can put 35s on right? People are saying I can't. But it's a 2 inch differance only 1" from hub to fender well. Can anyone explain. I've got a 79 yota with 35 swampers and a 4" bl wit no rub or anything. What's the issue with xterras

Not necessarily true about the 33" with a 2" BL. I have a 2" BL and PML and I need to do some cutting on the fenders. Currently rubbing like a mofoIMG_20150725_203736528.jpg

If you have a 2" BL, and you want 33's, on 5.5" BS rims, you do have to trim PLASTIC...but not metal. If you have less than 5.5" of BS, you also have to trim metal to fit 33's.

35's are not only going to protrude ONE more inch UP than 33's (2" of DIAMETER = 1" more RADIUS)...

..so, as far as HEIGHT, sure a 3" BL would give that one more inch to allow the tire to rise.

The issue is that the 35" diameter tire's radius ALSO extends fore/aft, as well as up/down.

THAT means that the part where the back of the front tires was kissing the well's back end with 33's is kissing one inch deeper...and that's metal there.

So, the added 1" of BL over the 2" BL DOES help, a lot...its not the only thing you're going to need to do....to fit 35's.

:D

To clarify, the main issue is the rears of the front wells, but if you don't have a Shrock, etc, the tires CAN also hit stuff to the front, etc.

That makes sense. Thank you for clearing that up for me. Got to keep the piggy bank going to make sure I get the right stuff at once

Even aside from the clearance issues... The stock IFS steering system is undermatched to the 35s. Drew had 35s on his with one of the best steering upgrade kits you can buy and in just a few months it was close to wearing it out.

If you want 35s you'll need to SAS. 33s are the most you'll want to run on our IFS.

Well now I know why my 79 Toyota never had issues. 33s will have to do. I don't want my cog too high anyways. I'm going to keep it as simple as possible. At least till I hit the lottery. Believe it or not I was thinking about pulling the front and rear end off my f250. But the I realized I have no idea what I'm doing or where to begin. Nor how much it would cost which is still more than what I got to work with.
