Ok, I'm at wits end here. I have a click coming from rear drivers side. It is NOT a u joint. I have double and triple checked this. I have tightened all u bolts. Thinking maybe the tank skid was shifting on some flexing, tightened all those. I even tightened the bolts on the leaf back brackets. Alas, the gobble damn noise is still there. Any suspension savvy folks wanna give a brother a hand? Free beer. Will even come to you.

You are asking for suspension experts, so I assume the sound happens when the suspension is flexing? The sound doesnt happen more quickly the faster you go? Do you use the spare tire carrier underneath the truck, if not, is there something with that which is making a sound? Does the sound happen only on big flex or just going down the road?

Spare is on rear carrier. Chain and spare carrier box removed. Sway bar removed. Only happens under "load". I know it is rear driver suspension as I got under and pressed up on sliders to relieve pressure on leaves...."click"

Ah. Ok. I have a "pop" on my '05. Passenger side, rear. Only happens when the suspension on that side extends. I havent tracked down the sourxe of the sound yet. Maybe its the same thing you are hearing. Anyone out there seen this?

Here are a few things I thought of. Don't know if these could be possible.

Leaf spring bushings?
U bolts tight?
Shackles hitting anything? Bushings?
Broke or cracked leaf in the pack?
Something in the brakes shift/loose?

With a leaf spring suspension there are not a lot of components. So are you sure its the suspension? Could it be a skid plate shifting or rubbing. Slider shifting.

check your shock bolts, lower.

We had a dude in RVA with the same issue, he found out his rear shock mount bolts were loose. Tightened them and has had 0 issues since.

I am having the same exact issue. It is a loud "pop," I can feel it too. I have checked everything but the shock. I had a friend rock the truck side to side so I could watch the leaf springs. I could see them moving a little bit and it coincided with the noise. I checked the U-bolts, centering pin, and leaf pack clips. Everything is tight. My next guess is to pull the spring pack off and inspect it. Maybe one is broken and I just didn't see it.

Wow. I'm sub'd but got zero notifications till today. Update: I was able to get a few more turns on ubolts. Still occasionally pops or clicks. Mostly just creaks now. I even power washed leaf springs and sprayed with graphite dry lube. That fixed it for about a day. I think it's something that will always be there for me till I upgrade from AAL to Alcans.

Edit: nevermind. I see all previous posts were same day. That's probably why I only got one previous notification.

I just checked my shock. Not loose at all. I can't deal with this noise. I know it is ok to drive, everything is in order down there from what I can tell. That noise though....it's not normal lol. I got a qoute from Deaver and Alcan for new packs. I don't really want to resort to that but maybe what is where I am headed.

How often are you getting this noise? My only happens on tight right-hand turns when I am moving pretty briskly. (And of course offroad). Bottom line is that my sound does not occur all the time.

Mine is intermittent as well. And disappears all together in wet weather. What about you offrd?
