Lights on starts, Lights off clicks

Hi all,
Need some help here my 04 X would not start Friday night- all the electrical worked but when I turned the key I got nothing. Narrowed it down to the starter, changed it and then all the electrical works and when I turn the key it clicks. Now the weird part when I turned the lights on it started up no problems and continued to do so with or with out lights That was Saturday it was good to go all day Sunday and today now I am back to clicking and I turn the lights on and it starts up. I am guessing bad ground, I checked everywhere I could think of but must have missed it. Has anyone had this problem or similar and could maybe point me in a direction? I have no aftermarket mods to the electrical system. Battery tested good and the alt seems to also be doing its job. Any insight you have would be great.

i had a problem similar to it. but it was my actual connection on my battery. it crack and was only catching partial connection to it, there for wasn't always starting would turn on sometimes then turn never turn on. finally figured what it was when i was driving and the whole truck died on me.

Well looks like I got it. Not sure what it was exactly most likely a loose connection. I started at the battery and worked my way back cleaning and tightening every thing I could get at and now it's good (so far so good). Ordered a scangauge II to keep track of things. Thanks for your post it confirmed a starting point for me.
