The idea of this thread is a place for general LBL discussions, sharing information on the area, and feeling out opportunities to go with fellow forum members. I think there are several here familiar with the place. If your in Western KY, Western TN, or Southern ILL, might check it out. (LINK)

I'm going to subscribe to this thread so I'll get notified if it's posted to, and hope others do as well. I don't anticipate much activity on it as members in this area are fairly scattered across the area, so please feel free to use it even if it's becomes old.

I go to LBL at least every couple months in good weather, less in the cold months, but actually have been tossing around the idea of seeing LBL with some snow on the ground for a change. (I need a new set of tires though...) I'm working on a map of places to explore that might have good roads for moderate wheeling as well, hoping to scout places I've found on the map.

So if there is any interest in LBL, speak up.

There has been some interest in a run next month in LBL. Nothing is for certain yet but Veterans Day weekend was being tossed around, that would be around the 10th of November.

Right now only TNX members are discussing it, if you have an account over there jump in as I made a thread just for trying to get up a run. If you don't, speak up here and I'll try to keep everyone up to date if it works out.

In another thread it appears we may have some interest in a March run to LBL, possibly camping.

I'm somewhat concerned with the weather in March, could be perfect, could be cold. I don't mind camping in "cool" weather, but if it gets down around freezing I'm out. The warmer the better for me, personally.

Who's likes that idea, who wants to camp? What weekend would work best?

For those unfamiliar with the area, there are 2 options for off road. First is Turkey Bay OHV area, an "off road park." The other is what I call "300 roads" which are dirt track roads minimally maintained. Both have their advantages and drawbacks, depending on your intentions. March 26th to May 5th the 300 roads close, keep that in mind if you suggest a date.

If there are any questions about LBL feel free to ask for details.

I am free for any time, I'll camp or whatever anyone wants to do. Personally I would like to do the 300 roads and Turkey Bay. I may even try to go up for a day before then to see what the roads are like.

Oh yeah LBL is perfect for stock rigs, heck even 4x4 is not particularly required. It's a good place for noobs which is why I'm always wanting to go there. :p

I'd recommend some armor for Turkey Bay, it has rougher spots on the moderate level trails. I went in there stock, but didn't do much other than the easy roads.
