No BL for me, I personally try to stay away from them... Nothing wrong with it, I would rather have a good wide stance rather then look huge. I think my view point on that comes from desert running though and love for Baja (my uncle use to be a Baja Chase Truck Driver).

Alright update time, so after going through the pass we entered Fish Springs. A unique place that when discovered originally had fish still naturally from the remnants of Lake Bonneville since then it has been restocked and used as a refuge for birds who often feasted here.
PonyExpress2014-49.jpg

The fish are small as the waters often shrink and expand depending on the year, we usually go in 7 year droughts so you can image they get pretty small.
PonyExpress2014-48.jpg

This area is usually called Eagles Nest because there is a bald eagle who uses this tree as an area to scout out prey though it has been years since I have seen one.
PonyExpress2014-50.jpg

After taking a long bathroom break we decided to head around the mountain side to a natural hot spring, most of us are extra cautious not to drive too close because of the mud. A few years ago we all got in it, and I know I spent $40 at the car wash trying to get it off.
PonyExpress2014-51.jpg

While I have stock tires I decided to hang way back but everyone else except Justin got closer
PonyExpress2014-52.jpg

Some people didn't even worry about getting out...

3" lift vs TS, Drop Bracket and BL
PonyExpress2014-54.jpg

These mountains, are quite unique there aren't that many trails through them but they are quite unique
PonyExpress2014-55.jpg

We got way closer on foot then ever before, just shows how drive of a year it's been
PonyExpress2014-56.jpg

Notice the old school bus? No one got to it this year, but just beyond that is the Dugway Proving grounds. And yes you will get escorted off the property w/ lethal force (if you continue of course).
PonyExpress2014-57.jpg

Watch your step, it gets muddy
PonyExpress2014-58.jpg

Some pretty awesome clouds in the distance (this is where we are heading just above Wendover) I can't remember what they are called I know they saucer shaped clouds though
PonyExpress2014-59.jpg

It's hard to see but there was steam rising and it was full of brine shrimp
PonyExpress2014-60.jpg

Looking back
PonyExpress2014-61.jpg

Taylor decided to have some fun
PonyExpress2014-62.jpg

And this is what your tires will look like after :p
PonyExpress2014-63.jpg

After getting back on the road it was off to our super secret location above the Utah Mine for a group shot
PonyExpress2014-64.jpg

We decided to throw the lights on and compare ;)
PonyExpress2014-65.jpg

It was a beautiful day out, had to get a couple pics of the surround area's
PonyExpress2014-66.jpg

Sun was on the down approach and I could see the warmth of the light starting to get more yellow
PonyExpress2014-67.jpg

Next up will be Gold Hill and then finish it up with Wendover!

Thanks guys, glad to see I am getting a few comments! Alright not many more pics coming but a few yes, so let's get an update!

So shortly after leaving the mine we headed on over to Gold Hill for our last stop before heading into Wendover.
PonyExpress2014-69.jpg

It's going to be hard to read but here is the old warn out sign about Gold Hill. At one point during WWII the city had 3000 resident's the primary source of mining was for Arsenic to be used by the military. After the war only a few stayed to continue mining you guess it... GOLD
PonyExpress2014-70.jpg

At the heart of town is The General Store, an old remnant of the past which didn't close all that long ago. You can read up on the town here or google it.
PonyExpress2014-71.jpg

Looking inside you will notice most of the roof is gone and the floor is very unstable...
PonyExpress2014-72.jpg

The old doors now boarded up if you notice someone had put "Stay out" on the sign at one point
PonyExpress2014-73.jpg

An old matress, not sure if the owner of the store had it there or someone brought it in
PonyExpress2014-74.jpg

While some of us took pics and walked around most stayed and talked at that point of time most people just wanted to get going
PonyExpress2014-75.jpg

My photography teacher was quite amazed at this picture :p In fact he wanted to know exactly where Gold Hill was so he could go check it out
PonyExpress2014-76.jpg

Here is looking into the basement, not much down there but I wouldn't mind going in with a metal detector and seeing if there was anything down under the dirt (too dangerous)
PonyExpress2014-77.jpg

Looking around town some operations are still on going
PonyExpress2014-78.jpg

This particular mine I believe the biggest of them has been flooded for years and closed
PonyExpress2014-79.jpg

Had to get a nice picture looking back
PonyExpress2014-80.jpg

The backside of the store
PonyExpress2014-81.jpg

There are some really interesting mines around this place but you need to be respectful and not annoy the residents
PonyExpress2014-82.jpg

While you could sneak in there isn't much inside anymore
PonyExpress2014-83.jpg

However looking up towards the main floor you can see the old vault
PonyExpress2014-85.jpg

I believe this was the main storage or managers office
PonyExpress2014-84.jpg

Well everyone was to get back to wendover and get some dinner, we headed on in and got there right at dusk, we saw some beautiful clouds just change colors as we drove and got to enjoy the subtle colors, after arriving we all gas'ed up and aired up at the local Chevron (they have free air)
PonyExpress2014-86.jpg

Told Justin to smile

PonyExpress2014-88.jpg

While everyone was either heading back home or off for more adventures, Justin and I would be staying in town! Totally worth it!
PonyExpress2014-89.jpg

Although Low Light and Night Photography is my hobby I didn't fee like breaking out the tripod but I did snap a few pictures
PonyExpress2014-90.jpg

Waiting inline to air up

PonyExpress2014-92.jpg

PonyExpress2014-93.jpg

Eric headed on into Neveda to go check out some property he had, I feel bad we kept him all day but I think he still enjoyed some of the trip
PonyExpress2014-94.jpg

Don backing up, FYI that is Max-Gear bumper with backup LED's
PonyExpress2014-95.jpg

After getting aired up and before everyone all went their separate ways we did get some food at Pizza Hut
PonyExpress2014-96.jpg

I will save my last 2x pictures until later
