The 4Runner is still body on frame. It's one of the last. What year did the 4Runner go uni-body chassis? Curious.
Prediction: The 2nd gen Xterra develops a premium in the used market and becomes, in relative terms, more expensive with time.
Caveat: Another vehicle like the WD-21 Pathfinder, earlier 4Runners or the 2nd generation Xterra is designed and released on to the market.
Unlikely to happen: Why? US CAFE rules.
.......
That aside, it's a Nissan. All others will depreciate like there's no tomorrow.
My first vehicle was an '86.5 Nissan hardbody. @280k miles, with the two windows wedged up cause if you moved the crank they'd fall into the door frame, front end was toe'd in so bad you had to constantly steer it down the road and absolutely zero brakes left on it, I still got $500 for it. Loved that truck.. Never forget the car you got your first piece of ass in~Reminds me of the Nissans in the 1970s and 1980s. Used to rust out in no time up here in harsh winter land. They seemed to last longer in Africa.
Curious: Do folks actually wheel off-road with Grand Cherokees?
Solid Front AxleSFA = set-forward axle?
Had to look that one up.
Curious: Does a V-8 really help off-road?
I'd like to think the X could be the new XJ buuut I can't see it becoming as popular and getting more aftermarket like the one with a Jeep brand emblem on it ya know?
