I don't know too much about this company or even ever heard of them before. But itsnt it pretty easy to make the factory intake into a cai on first gens?

I think you can do that paint can intake that zachbz did. I know XSE256 is running this intake and I think luke ran it at one time because he was going to try and find the pipe for me so all I would have to do is buy the filter but he didn't have all the parts.

Its a pretty gobble deal.

And I already have the 2 resonators deleted but left the baffle in.

If you go slow through water crossings you will be fine.... as for the filters... I bought a foam filter off ebay for it after the first one got dirty and it was washable... it worked great.. now its on my atv lol

Also the Volant is not as air tight as they say it is. I know that there was a discussion on how it wasn't much more "seal" than the stock air box. I also know that if you want to ever go with a lo-pro diy snorkel, the volant makes it much harder. where as leaving the stock air box makes it easier.

But I like the CAI that Aaron suggested.

Speaking from personal experience I would not buy it. I had one on a dodge charger and it sucked. It had some janky mount, not a lot fit right. I ended up throwing it out not long after I got it.

Im considering this intake again guys....I go through some water at my local wheeling spot but its below my doors and it never splashed above the hood. Plus the intake inside the fender is pretty much at the same height as the cone would be....my only concern is my fan kicking mud and water up into the cone.

Its not a tight seal.. but the box keeps 95% of dirt and about all of the mud away from the filter.. I noticed a 1mpg increase right away... Im AVG 14.5s right now.. and have hit 15s

For what these cost yes.. Its a lot of money.. But if you plan on keeping the Xterra for a long time Id say its worth it..

and Arron they run about 300 not 200

Im not going to spend that much on a CAI (volant) lol thats just me. But I would like the possibility of a few more horses and some extra feet per gallon :D

Im getting 15mpgs also and running stock specs minus the lift...which Id like to see improve cause its kinda depressing going 160 miles on half a tank. I know it won't improve much but $65 for a CAI is hard to pass up.

Ill tell you want has saved me MPGs.. Ultra gauge.. I watch the true MPGs as a I drive and I have learned how to gain... I hit 15.8 last week ... Now thats a lot of HWY but.. It teaches you how to back off and watch the MPGs go up... I paid 70.00 for it..

Id say you could get in the 16s and 17s if you watch how you drive...

Im a heavy off road rig now.. So 15s are sweet to me..

Dang I forgot about those awesome things....tough decisions but I would agree now that I have a muffler that growls its hard to accelerate slow.
