Idling high/rough

So I've noticed in the past few months my X is idling high and rough. I pointed out to the hubby and he found that when you put it in neutral it stops doing it. I've noticed it does it more when I've been driving for awhile and it's nice and warmed up.

He thinks it's some sort of vacuum leak but couldn't deduce anymore than that without thoroughly looking it over and he hasn't had much time. Any ideas?

I bet its the Distributor... They have a bearing that will go out and cause similar issues...

How many miles?

Talked to the hubby about that. He said he didn't think that was it since it doesn't do it all the time. I also got a code for a cold air intake sensor which hasn't been replaced. It threw the code when it was -16 out and hasn't gone away since.

OK, so we figured it out and I thought I would put it on here so other people can see.

The SES light went off yesterday when the hubby went to start it. The weather has been really warm and when the problem first started, it was a morning that was -16F. So that tells us it's the thermostat. When the weather isn't so nice it dumps tons of fuel. I'm glad it's a $10 problem vs. a $100 one.
