Idle RPM issue

Misha Malamute

Test Drive
i have a 2012 pro 4x. while idling the rpm's drop really low to a point it feels like the truck is about to stall out, around 500-550 rpms. It then recoveres and returns to about 700-750 idle rpms. I have already replaced the MAS. What other things can cause the drop in RPM's? the only other issues i have is the cylinder 2 bank 2 O2 sensor is not reading correct. when i look at its voltage it is all over the place. i will be ordering a new O2 sensor soon to replace it and hopefully resolve that issue assuming it is not a bad cat. Other than a K&N Air filter in a stock air box everything is stock.

Pull the K&N and put in a paper element. Then clean you MAF with MAF cleaner. Then you'll probably have to do an idle relearn. The oil in the K&N doesn't seem to work well with our trucks.

It is literally a new MAF. The Idle issue existed when i got the truck with a paper filter. How do i do the IDLE relearn feature?

Is it an OE/Hitachi brand MAF? Aftermarket stuff can cause issues to. Not saying that it is but it could be adding to it.

I can't remember the process right now. There's several steps of key on engine off and depressing the accelerator pedal at certain time intervals.
