I know most of you here probably have seen on the news about the Hercules 265 Oil drilling rig fire.

I've been ask by a few. I am fine. For those of you who don't know I work offshore on oil rigs. I don't know anyone that is working on that rig. I'm sure I will know people who know people. But yet to find out. I'm sure you guys see this all the time in your own field of work. It amazes me what type of info the news puts out and how they explain it. I don't know what fully happened but I know what I have heard. All I can say I give it to Walter oil and gas and Hercules higher ups on the rig for getting everyone off of it before anyone got hurt. It sucks but the environment can recover steel can be rebuilt. But the lost of life is not worth the risk and from what I have heard there was nothing they can do. Also from what I have heard the issue was not a last second one. Its one that developed. Might have shown signs or not before they realized the situation. But I can't say this enough everyone is safe and they took care of there employees vs worrying about the instant cost. I wounder how this is going to effect my work and career.

What do you all think of this situation?
