Ok I will do that. I really want to get some good shots with the next South Central xterra meet....

Only take your 24-105 and "get personal" with the trucks! The wider you shoot, the closer you need to get. Try it at home first so you understand the concept. Wide angle does not mean "get it all in"

If you use the 24mm side of the lens move closer to your subject, unless you want the effect that being further away provides. Typically you'll want to move closer when using wide angle so that the perspective of the subject looks more natural. You may be just a few inchs away! You'll have to shoot both ways to see what I'm talking about.

I shot this photo at 17mm about a foot or so from the dog's ass...

Some mining thing my parents shot in Alaska a couple weeks ago. I attempted some HDR using a single exposure and this is the result. Not the greatest, but it's still kindda cool.

Here is an HDR shot of my old X from a few years ago. Was out fishing a local river for trout and I usually have the camera with me. At the time I had a Nikon D60 (My First DSLR) I didn't know to much about photography at the time. I like the shot even though I'm sure people would pick out some flaws. I've since learned a ton, and have better gear as well.

Photo Info:

Camera: Nikon D60
Lens: Nikkor 55-200mm VR f4-5.6G
Focal Length: 55mm
Aperture: f/4 ISO: 200 Shutter: 1/30s
# of Exposures: 1
Post Processing: Adjusted contrast, exposure, and color using Nikon Capture NX2 - Then Photomatix to convert to HDR. Added the frame around the photo for effect (Social Media)
