Has anyone moved gas tank from under back seat, to spare tire area? Is there a company that sell’s one, or do I source the bits from ??? Interested to hear back from members, or ideas.

I’m trying to figure out how to install the gas tank from my junked pathfinder. It sits on the left side of the frame. Then I could have 2!

My aim is to be flat bottomed though center of truck while I leave IFS/spring, At later date be able to 4 link rear suspension. The stock gas tank presents it self to easily to N Ontario’s boulder population ( we have a rather large population of them lol). The transfer case hangs down, but not 4-5”s like gas tank does. Rear tank would be easier to armor as well. I have an idea, but need to measure donor tank I am thinking about. But I hope someone here knows of, or has done it.

I’m sure you can find an aftermarket fuel cell that should fit. Probably won’t be cheep though.

How far into N.Ont. Are you? I’ll be traveling west from NB to Winnipeg mid May. Want to meet for a beer?

Will be stopping in Quebec City to visit my brother. Next stop is somewhere west of Ottawa.

It's certainly doable. The question is capacity. Current tank is 19gal (no I won't do metric math). Can you get that kind of capacity out of an aft mounted fuel cell? How will it affect your departure angle? I don't know. Plus you can get a real skid plate for the gas tank you have.

That said, when I had my first gen, I toyed with the idea of tucking the existing tank up once I did the body lift to get it out of harms way.

4runner guys have been putting f150 aux tanks in their spare tire area on 3rd gens. Since the stock tire size is the same 31" it may be a good option.
