Got a free poster offer, so I made this.

Zazzle is offering free 20x28 posters to members (one per account) so I'm having this made:

It's not the newest pic of my X, but with all the stuff I'm doing in the next few months I think I'll consider it the definitive record of my 1.0 build :bmmd:

I think my code is unique to my account, so I don't know if it's sharable, but this size poster on their value poster paper is about $15 plus shipping, which isn't so bad.

Well, we tried. Zazzle does some pretty high quality stuff - I used to silkscreen my own shirts but I had to get rid of all that stuff, and these guys do my one-offs nicely:

(and if anyone is interested, I have this up for sale: http://www.zazzle.com/x_offroad_back_shirt-235118900832739809 - forgot about it until someone bought one just last week!)

They run general discounts throughout the year, as well as product-specific discounts, so just stay tuned to your email.

Shutterfly.com does canvases fairly cheap if you sign up for groupons.

What photo editing program did you use to make your photo look like that? I love how sharp your X looks compared to the fuzzier background.

Photoshop. I have two layers of the same image, then carefully selected my X using the lasso selection tool (I like the polygonal one). Inverted the selection (i.e., selected the background), de-saturated it (as well as the same area on the layer underneath), then applied a Gaussian blur to the top layer only (bottom layer helps the edges look clean). Inverted the selection again (selected the X) and deleted the selection from the top layer for cleaner edges.

Here's the original for reference:

Haha you just spoke in tongues to me there. But the explanation (even if gobbledegook) is appreciated. Nice work!

If you want the same effect, send me a good pic, I'll see what I can do. I got the week off :)

I appreciate the offer. My x pictures are on my old hard drive that is sitting waiting for an external enclosure I ordered before Christmas. It should be here shortly but if not I still appreciate the offer.

I actually understood what you said after taking a Photoshop class this fall. I didn't learn much from the teacher but it's amazing what you can learn from having the program available.
