Front shocks

Plucky

Test Drive
Set up:

2013 Xterra, M-205 differential, Nisstec coilover (not extended type) w/650# springs, set at the lowest setting which nets me 1/2 to 3/4 in lift after winch, bumper, and armor. The set up is perfect for my needs, so I'm not looking to upgrade- No T-swap, lift or extended travel coil overs planned for.

My problem is that the shocks are starting to show signs of needing a rebuild. Obviously, sending them back to Nisstec to rebuild is off the table.

Can some of tou Xterra gurus suggest an equivalent alternate shock (similar in ride quality)that I could just install? I'm not knowledgeable at all as to the compatibility of a different brand with Nisstec hardware. Is there anyplace around that will rebuild Nisstec shocks? The plan is to replace the existing shocks, then send those out for rebuild if possible and keep them for the next time I need to change them out. I don't want my truck out of commission waiting for weeks or months for shocks to be rebuilt!

Thanks for any help you can give me.

The old Nisstec MK84 shocks are not rebuildable. You have to replace them.

Thanks, TerryD. You have saved me from being (more than the usual) baffled and confused!
