Finally got a house

Well I've been in college working on my doctorate in pharmacy so it's been apartment living for a few years. I finally found a house to rent and it's cheaper than my apartment was and way nicer!
I have a garage and a shed to work on the x and store tools!

Thanks guys. This house is kind of funny. They remodeled it a couple years ago but it's funny to see where they cut corners. All in all though I love it. I have an office to work on school stuff where I can shut the door and not be bothered, we have an actual laundry room to hide the cleaning stuff from my kid, I have a place to work on my x, my kid has a yard, and my wife gets...uh.. A nicer kitchen lol.


Agreed about apartments. I always got funny looks when I went down 3 flights of stairs with a creeper and tools. Much less when I actually changed it in the parking lot. The funniest was when I paint the plastics in the parking lot at our apartment complex lol

I have done plenty of wrenching on my X outside my apartment building...and yes...you get some funny looks when you are lugging around tool boxes and gear and have your car ripped apart in the lot...and land lords frown upon leaking fluids all over their parking spaces when changing coolant hoses....OOPS

Congrats, man! That's a great looking abode!

I too am on the hunt for a house, but the wife and I are sick of renting and we don't want to move twice, so our hunt for the perfect house with the perfect deal has been long and tiresome. But our financial situation improves daily, so I definitely foresee and end to the apartment nightmare.

Good luck man. We will buy a house eventually but need to get out of school and pay Sallie Mae before I do. Our land lord is pretty chill we can do anything as long as it looks better than previous or we change it back.

Well, I too am excited about a new house - hopefully the last one I'll buy, because getting the old one ready to sell and moving stuff into storage, plus dealing with the contract for the new one...all while continuing to try and do my job fulltime is taking its toll to say the least. But it will be worth it - 1,000 SF air conditioned shop here I come! No more wrenching in the driveway and my X fits indoors! YAY!!!

That's awesome NM. where is that in NM? We used to flyfish every summer in Colorado. We would go to a shop in Taos, NM.

Thx man, I'm stoked. It's in corrales, a small rural-ish town just outside of albuquerque. Added 10-15 mins to my commute but worth it. I too like to fly fish in northern nm and southern colorado....

We used to fish Moreno lake, San Juan, Calabria creek with van out of Taos. Then he started taking us to the green up north.
