Factory O2 Sensors + DT Headers == HALP NO CAN REACH!!

Okay, so installed the headers. Passenger side primary O2 sensor wire no longer reaches the plug on top of the valve cover. All others are golden. I can MAKE it reach, but it puts tension on other wires and nobody wants that. What's the solution here? Cut and extend wires? I've seen some extension harnesses online but none are for the right plug configuration.

Halp?

Cut and extend is an option. If you go that route try to use the same size wire and be absolutely positively 100% sure the connections are vibration and moisture proof. I'd solder and heat shrink the patch areas.

Edit: You'd be OK using slightly bigger wire for the extension. Just don't go smaller. You don't want the computer reading more resistance than it's supposed to have.

First Fill-Up (of many)
I extended mine with same wire and crimps with heat shrink over them. I've yet to have problems with mine and its been nearly 8months.

Yeah, I understand Ohm's law. and thats why I was curious how to fix this. looking at it, it seems like 18-20GA wire....and I have some 18 around. So I guess I'll get to soldering and heat shinking.

So glad you

A) Ran into this problem
B) Started a thread about it
C) Received answers about it
D) Are going to get it all squared away
E) All of the above

Luckily within the next couple days my X will be wearing the DT's, so it's nice to have this info squirreled away in my brain.
