I asked my girlfriend to marry me over the weekend, took her and her daughter up to Pretty Place AKA Symmes Chapel at sunrise. It is an open air chapel on the edge of a cliff where the mountains begin near the SC/NC border. She had a good idea I was going to do it, so it wasn't a complete surprise, I was giving her all kinds of tidbits during the week to build anticipation. Unfortunately there were about 30 college kids who braved the cold to watch it as well, which I hadn't planned on, so we moved to one of the back rows before I went down on one knee, she did not want the attention.
