I have never heard anything bad about it, other then it can get hefty the more layers you get into, both in price and weight.

I like the idea but I can't spend that money on my truck right now, I also considered it when I was running massive subs but again I was just a young kid and couldn't spend that money there.

Depends on how you plan on using it. I used to have a 3000GT that had no back seat so I used it then. Definitely helped to kill the road noise. But if your gonna leave seats and plastics in idk that it would be worth it. Like tucker said it gets expensive quick.

Did mine. Helped improve the stereo especially mid bass response in the doors also directed the sub bass towards the front rather then out the trunk. As far as road noise can't say it really made a large difference. My truck still drives like a unrefined vehicle as I find most of the noise to come thru the window seals and thin glass. I think I should of did the roof as that's where your ears are. Lots of big spans of metal to vibrate and make noise in that area just think when its raining how loud it is in your X.. There are products designed to reduce cabin noise. They mostly consist of foam or foam and a thick liner of vinyl. The foam floats the material so the sound can't be transmitted by touch. They are costly but they do work. Sound dampening added a lot of weight to my X as well but makes it feel more quality made. The body panels are quite tinny without the added mass of sound dampener. I probably added 75lb's of mat.

My entire Mustang is dynamat coated. The entire floor, roof, doors, everything. It made a HUGE difference in the sound of the stereo and in the general road noise. Plus the made the entire car feel more solid and put together.

The only thing stopping me from doing the doors on the X is that I'd probably need new door pins and bushings on the drivers side. The door already sags. And with the extra weight?

Is there a big difference in materials from gen 1 to 2? I don't really get road noise in my X.

Have you tried loosening the hinges and repositioning?

Even when my terra grapplers actually had tread I didn't get a lot of road noise. Maybe I'm just too used to military vehicles making racket.

Sent from my mansion in Grouchland.

I have terra grapplers and found them to be quite quiet for a semi-aggressive looking AT. I was expecting worse. But I'd say just about anything short of a 70's land cruiser will be quiet compared to the military vehicles.

Outside of that, there are several products out there exactly like Dynamat which are MUCH cheaper and the same or higher quality. I'm also looking for the website of a guy who did all sorts of acoustical testing with an asphalt based sound deadening product such as Dynamat and found its not doing anything but reducing weight from your wallet and adding it directly to your vehicle to cover much more than (i think) 1/4 of a flat panel. I'll post it when I find it again.
