I am purchasing the Cobra 75wxst All-in-One CB along with a Firestick on a Hatch mount probably with a sping. Anyway what I need to know is where have you guys mounted your CB even if not the same one. Next question I have is which antenna should I order the 3' or 4' firestick II?

This is where mine is most of the time. Mounted to the plastic just in front of the seat where it's out of the way when not in use.

When I'm on the trail and using it I generally just lay it between the seats. It's been a great radio but I may replace it with a Cobra 18WXST II I have laying around.

I mounted the box in the center console and power it from the ac outlet. It coils up in there out of the way when not in use. When in use, I have handset cradle mounted similar location to chrishaynes(who?)USA

I really like this I think I may do this one I too wanted to use the cig lighter for the power supply since the one in the console is on all the time.

I wired in a new lighter for mine under the drivers seat because I leave my phone charger in the console plug.

I mounted mine a bit higher than some others, so its screen is facing me when driving and I can see the scan results, etc, w/o needing to hold it.

I put the plug for it down on the P-side console well to keep it out of the way.

I used a 4' Wilson Flex because it can take a beating w/o breaking and still get great signal, etc. Its so flexy, I can bend it back onto itself and it doesn't care....no problem,

I mounted it to the top of the spare carrier hoop on the rear bumper.

The set-up worked great for me. (That was on my 2001, I have to swap it over to the 2004 though)

Considering the sound output it seems like mounting it higher like that would help you hear it better as well.

I don't have any pics, but for my Cobra 75 . . . I ran my coax down through the rear upper grommet for the brake light, down behind the plastics to the floor and through the space beside the rear utility rail, under the rear seats and up into the center console. I tapped into the cig power (brown wire) for the CB unit by unscrewing the center console lid and popping off the rear of the console to expose those wires. Drilled a hole into the bottom of the center console to pass the coax and power into it. Right now I just leave the hand unit in the center console.
I will eventually finish it to be like my '05.
Drill a hole in the front of the center console low by the e-brake and use the connector/grommet that comes with the kit there. You can quickly connect/ disconnect the cb there. I also mounted a small external speaker just above the connector facing up that helps hearing a lot. Then you can easily run the cb cable along the e-brake area uo to the dash to hang it wherever you like.
It is really very clean and you can easily conceal it.

That was another consideration, as its speaker is better aimed that way too. I had been considering an external speaker, but after using the CB as is, decided I didn't need the separate speaker.

For the 2004 X, I might run the ant to the front instead of the rear bumper again. This also avoids going past the fuel pump and the associated interference, etc. I tail gun typically, so most people I need to communicate with are in front of me.

I have mine similar to TJ's location...

I like it here.. I have my box mounted right under the steering column and wired right into my fuse box with the cigarette lighter so when the key is turned back it will automatically turn off. Meaning, a less chance for a dead battery! I tend to be forgetful ;)

Man you need to add some yellow accents to the inside.
