Me likey diff cover!!
DAT DIFF COVER!
I see what you did there...
Can we assume you already got the gears since that looks like a master install kit?
Those arrive tomorrow. I'm going to finish one axle at a time. The D44 is first, then I'll tackle the 9".
Subscribed. Very interested in the build, and how much it ends up costing as I may end up doing the same thing with the long travel conversion, putting it together from several sources. They might end up roughly equal...
Your build is amazing... never ceases to amaze me how brave you guys are to cut out the front suspension to put in a solid axle. But, even though I wouldn't know if that is in my future, please post a crap load of pics for us! I might need the pics if I ever go that route.
It doesnt take bravery to cut out ifs just enouh busted parts to get a guy pissed off.
Now back to work if you ever get this thing done well have to go wheeling so I can see how bad my ride does against coilovers and stuff done right lol.
Tell you what ill buy your rear gears if you get me a set of 39.5 PB Rockers lol.
Where did you go in the yoop?
I think I am going to effectively put the kabosh on the SAS. :-(
After all that work put into the parts and knowledge? Well if no SAS, then what?
Save money, and just use my X the way it is. My SAS was a dream I was trying to fulfill, but money is getting tighter, time is getting harder to find. I have a huge log of parts, and I will probably lose money, but not as much money as I would lose by completing it. I will have to inventory everything, and then figure out where I am going to sell it all.
Time to dig this out of the grave. Parts are slowly accumulating, and ideas are churning. SAS and engine swap coming in the not so near future.
