Well I have said goodbye to the dark knight. It was sort of sudden but my wife and I had been discussing finances and the Xterra kept coming up as a unnecessary cost. While I loved my Xterra, I love my family more and since we have a second child on the way we decided to trade for a fuel efficient vehicle to help save some money. I am back in a new Jetta and I must say it is amazing to get over forty miles per gallon. I still plan to purchase a used 2nd gen to build, but for now priorities come first. I will still be around and coming to events, I will just have to ride with someone on he trails for now. I appreciate all of the help and input along the way and look forward to my next Xterra. Below are some pics of the new ride.

I could have kept the bumper but I sold the stock one so it was pretty much staying on there. Plus next go around I will probably go with a different company. Just sayin.

WOW! That totally caught me off guard. I was really digging your rig too! Oh well, family first is the best practice for sure. Did you point the new guy in the direction of XN? I'll be sad if I don't see more action shots of the Punisher!

Whoa, just saw this thread for the first time. Sorry to see your rig go buh-byes, but it's understandable. I'd be a liar if I said I haven't considered ditching my X due to fuel economy and rising gas prices.

Maybe by the time you plan on buying another X there will be a 3rd gen! Oh the possibilities...

I almost cried watching that video, this is sad in deed but you have to do what you must to provide for family and sometimes in life we have to sacrifice wants for needs. Good luck to you and your family and hope to see you back in an X one day.
