Anyone planning to bring a bike to nXm?

I had planned to ride the trails last year but never got around to it / had to head home quick.

From what I remember, the guy there told me there was a trail of a few miles, some of it slightly intense. It sounded awesome.

I'm going to throw my bike on my rack; if anyone would like to tag along, bring yours!

*Edit: Just found this on the Windrock site.

"Windrock Park has east Tennessee’s best downhill mountain bike course and some amazing cross-country trails as well. The downhill trails and cross-country trails are all agressive and rated difficult to extreme and geared towards expert riders. They consist of steep, rocky, and technical descents with many trail features such as natural and man-made drops and jumps."

One thing I like as much as my X is mountain biking. If I were heading out to nXm this year I would definitely bring my bike(s) and spend some time riding, too. Let us know how the riding is!

I am a big mountain biker. I asked around a bit and heard that there are mountain bike trails at windrock but was told they are really "downhiller" trails. I have not confirmed this.

Brian, lets talk as the time approaches. Maybe I will pack my bike too. What day are you thinking about riding?

The other thing to consider, if you are really looking for some riding is that Big South Fork is not far away, and I am told that also has some great biking trails. Haven't done them myself, but they are supposed to be good. Also, there is a place called Norris, North of Knoxville that I rode years ago. They had some great trails too.

Its supposed to be some pretty epic downhill stuff, but i've heard you probably want someone to show you around thats been before. I've seen lots of pics and vids of people shuttling up the roads with trailers full of bikes. I won't be bring my bike, not enough room for this trip and I don't think I will have the time.

Bringing my bike thats for sure. The old Trek has seen plenty of trails, and I was actually wondering if there were any trails up at nxm. This makes me happy.

MAN, if this was 10 years ago, I'd be all over it. But it's not, and I don't have a MTB anymore, nor am I in any shape to ride a bike like that.

I don't either...my son will be in basic training then so I am taking his. Then when I wipe out and destroy the bike I'm not out any money.

I was just wondering if anyone was riding. I was taking the trails easy in the x but figured I could get some miles in on the trails on my bianchi. I won't be there till Friday night so not sure when I will be able to ride. Maybe Sunday. I am not a downhiller just a decent xcountry guy so hopefully there's some trail I can manage.

Hey Thall,

I was thinking 'bout bringing my Specialized rig but I have changed my mind. I might bring it just to ride around the campground, but doubtful on that too. I haven't been riding much and I'd hate to lug it there since I am not in shape for an epic ride.

Well unless there was others braving the trails I was just going to bring mine to ride the roads around camp. I ride a few times a week and am trying to build some endurance so I will still bring mine along.
