Has anyone out their removed their floor carpet and replaced with bedliner? Im currently tossing the idea around and would love any advice, pics, input.....
I Bedlined the interior of my old bronco. It was a lot noisier. Rode noise as well as suspension and tires. Also was pretty friggin cold in the winter time. It took a lot longer for the heater to warm up the inside.
Hummmmm....now the noggin is really thinking......i dont wanna deal with freezing my butt off in the winter...but the carpet on mine is all stained from the previous owner...to bad they dont have a vinyl floor option like the f150s....or do they?
nope i dont feel or hear anything different, and its great for clean up dont have to worry about anything. our carpets are very thin anyway so i dont see how they would make a difference
I'm sure you could liner it then get some heavy duty floor mats. Or on old pickups they have a large one piece insulated mat. You could cut that to fit.
But you will notice a difference in the cold.
My buddy told me about Lizardskin which is a good alternative to bedliner and it can reduce road noise and heat. Does anyone have experience on this product?
If the doors were easily removable on the truck, I could see doing this. And then I'd never have doors on my truck. But as it is, the complete interior missing the carpet is just strange to me. Plus I have a crap ton of wires coming back to front that the carpet is hiding. But I suppose, if I didn't have doors, I also wouldn't have an amp and such things.
No experience with the Lizardskin, but I did the cargo area for the same reasons you're thinking of doing yours and the increase in road noise is significant for my X, especially with M/T tires. I don't have an issue with heating in the winter (but my heater is quite effective!) but it's a lot harder to keep cool in the summer, which is a huge minus living in high country desert. Thinking about insulating it again and installing a platform with boxes for camping.
