Walls....sigh.
Unbelievably expensive mofos.
We can only HAVE 250 blocks...that's it no matter how large a village you make.
The first blocks are 200 gold, each, times 250 = 50,000 g
To upgrade the walls, its cost more and more g. I forgot to keep track, but I have level 6 and level 7 walls, mixed as I change the 6's to 7's...and it costs 200,000 g per block to do it.
So to make 250 L6 blocks into 250 L7 blocks it costs 50,000,000 g :O
To make the L7's into L8's, its another 500,000 per block...times 250 = 125,000,000 g MORE.
So, if I JUST go to L8, that's 50 million plus 125 million g = 175 MILLION g.
OK, so how LONG TO MAKE 175 MILLION g?
I have 6 gold mines working 24/7 at 3,000 g per hour, so a production rate for all 6 of 18,000 per hour.
175,000,000 divided by 18,000 = 9,777 hours to make that much gold.
9,777 divided by 24 hours in a day, and that's 405 DAYS to make that much g.
I've been spending gems on boosting production, so theoretically, I could chop that to ~ 203 days.
THAT'S JUST FOR 250 blocks of WALL!!!!! To just Level 8....and it goes to L12. :O
That leaves ZERO for upgrading weapons or defenses, etc.
No WONDER I was able to build-up other stuff by skipping walls....so much $!
And, now I see there's stuff that flies OVER the walls, spells that allow troops to jump OVER the walls, hog riders that leap OVER the walls, and so forth....and I'm seriously considering if walls are the panacea to defense?
Sheesh.
