Alignment question

Just went to 3 places to get quotes on front end alignment for my 2014 4wd. First shop was $129, second was $109. Third place was a 4wd specialist Standard alignment was $150. They also said there was a good chance my cam bolts would be frozen and require replacement of my lower control arms to the tune of $1500. Does this sound right?

The alignments for a modified 4x4 aren't off much. Little high for my area but that's relative I guess.

How mechanically inclined are you? Replacing the control arms isn't an awful job. Get a Sawzall and good bladed and saw the bushings off inside the brackets for the arms.

A new set of arms is around $200 on Rock Auto. I used the Rough Country cam bolts for a pretty abusive 60k miles with issue. They're like $30-40.

I hope it doesn’t com to that but I can do it if it does. Does a stock 2014 have cam bolts? Seems like I read somewhere it’s just a standard bolt.

Depends. There were production runs that had them and some that didn't.

Crawl under the front and look at the lower control arm bolts. If the head of the bolt is centered in the opening, then it's a standard bolt.

If there's more washer on one side than any other, congratulations! You have the adjustable bolts.

In the long run of these trucks tho, it really doesn't matter. If you ever lift them or need a serious alignment, you'll have to cut the stock bolts out and replace either just the bushing (if your ball joints are still good) or the entire LCA.

In that eventuality, buy some OE adjustable bolts, nuts, and eccentric washers from the local stealership, or a place like Z1. Only buy OE for these. Ask me how I know not to buy the Moog ones.
