For rock crawling, sure. But for long distance overland expedition travelling? It'd would make one hell of a 4wd camper.

Ive seen them around as work trucks. Have never really thought about them as 4x4 vehicles. Interesting idea. They do seem top heavy though.

No more top heavy than the Xterra, I would imagine. It's totally empty and nothing but sheetmetal up top. All the heavy parts are down low. And it is quite wide. You could damn near drive a Suzuki Samurai into the back of one. Again, I would want to rock crawl with one, but Quigley clearly demonstrated it in Moab and Rausch Creek, so it looks like it's good. Start throwing a pop up or RTT, and it might get a little tippy, but a real expo vehicle would counter that with water tanks and batteries down low. I honestly don't think it would be any more top heavy than an SUV. Maybe less.
