Looks like the shipping date will be late 10/2013 for the 2014 xterra. I can not verify that this is a gen 3 at this time but I'm 80% sure it will be.

Stay tuned

I feel like they would have asked me to quote parts if it were anything, but a facelift. Anyway, I asked my contact in controls design.

Has anyone tried doing a Google search for 2014 Xterra? It's pretty funny. It's amazing how many have "spy photos" that are actually everything from a current Xterra, an Armada, a Pathfinder and some that are clearly CG. They sure talk like they all have the inside scoop though. Sadly some of them can't even get the facts straight about current and past Xterras.

We obviously know that MY14 is being produced, because they moved it from the Smyrna plant down to Canton MS where the Titans are build...it's coming. May not be exactly what we were hoping for, it may be MORE than we hoped for...but it's coming. It's not dead.

YA....Nissan said months ago they were revising the sheetmetal to help in getting better gas mileage and they were also going to extend the roofline for added storage (not sure I get that one) and working on improving the engine for better mileage....other than that they've been real quiet. We should know soon I hope...next few months.

I want a redesign honestly like a badass redesign yes but this body style is getting ancient

I think Xterra has everything it needs going for it already. A redesign isn't going to do that much. 10 years is not that long when considering how long jeep kept the TJ line and how successful it was. 1997-2006. 9 years.

I'm afraid Nissan will try to swing it more towards families and make it look like a soccer mom truck.

It hasn't been quite 10 years on that body. 2005 was the changeover. So at MY 2015 it'll be 10 years.

But nonetheless, I was hoping for a revamp as well. Just something to freshen up the line. But oh well. maybe next year.

Look at the bright side: the longer Nissan produces the 2nd gen, the more spare parts there will be out in the world for a longer period of time :)

So much for the original slogan.

I'd like to see a redesign to the 1st gen with a 2nd Gen engine.

The fronty doesn't look much different, so I doubt seriously that the X will either. I don't mind a 3rd gen, as long as they keep it in line with what the X is now and has always been. An offroad capable SUV. I really hope it doesn't start going down the same route as the Pathy, because lord knows there are enough crossover, minivan looking things on the road now anyways.

Redesign or no redesign I'm sticking with mine for a while :) I really was curious what a gen 3 would look like though

Me too. No matter how good they make a gen 3 I'm hanging on to mine as long as I can. I'm still keeping my hopes up for an even more capable rig when they do a redesign. Jeep has confirmed they'll be going IFS with the Wrangler in the near future so that could make Xterra and FJ Cruiser more attractive to a wider group of buyers.

Top and left look like the Juke. The right looks like something different. Sentra or a Z; something that size.
