Light bars look good! Was wondering has anyone ever cut out a hole in the plastic wind dam on roof rack so that the light bar would get mounted in behind it? As much as I like the light bars on top but when riding out here the first tree branch would scratch it or worse take the light bar right off. :( Looks good.
I do believe the Xterra Performance 2nd Gen has theirs mounted in the rack air dam

When I designed this bar it wasn't with led bars in mind.. Really they had just popped in 2010 when I started building them..

My thought also was to keep the bar away from the windshield to help reduce glare..

Looking good prime. hopefully I will get to WENT to see it in person. Just remind me not to ride in front of you on the night run.

I dont see why you couldnt mount the light upside down on the light bar and then either notch the top or cut a hole in the faring for the light. you could flip the light bar over to adjust the height a little if need be. If i remember correctly the b&m is curved slightly on the ends. I think leaving a small lip at the top of the faring would be best and maybe reinforce it with something from behind like a piece of flat stock steel would work well. something like 1/8" thick by 1/4". then it would be thin enough you could mold it to the curve of the faring but still be thick enough to add rigidity. some black allen head bolts through the faring to attach it all together and keep it pretty.

Waiting for the JB Weld to dry and cure. Then I'll cut the tube off flush with the plastic, paint the whole thing, and move on to the other side.

Thanks!

Got the other beer holder set in. Just waiting for the primer to cure on the right side & the JB Weld to set on the left.

Progress!

Lol. Yeh. I've started shopping for it.

Suggestion: find one with multiple bases, put one one the MIDDLE of the back seat in the X and one in the wife's car, the one in the X, make a wooden wedge to help get the seat at the right "angle"....

So the way this works is the LED that is under the text "winch power" gets tied to the illumination circuit. When the switch is activated the winch light comes on and the in and out lights come on as well. The way this is wired, the in and out switches will not function unless the winch power switch is on.

Exactly my plan, well done.

awesome :kewl:, after seeing this, my next mod right here. With my windows being so dark, and the red backup lights (l.e.d tailights), I need some light before I accidentally back all over something lol

Somehow I missed those winch switches until now. I like that. Might have to borrow that idea from ya.

...and now I'm having your #christmastreeproblems, running out of room for switches.
