What is an IAB and What is it used for?

OK, this is a noob question. I'm going to assume an IAB stands for Idler Arm Brace(Bracket). It looks like it mounts against the frame rails.

What is the point of having an IAB if it doesn't come stock on a vehicle? What does it help?

I've noticed if I tend to over-turn my steering wheel, I'll get this horrendous creek sound. Does an IAB stop this from happening.

Thanks ;)

The idler arm brace provides support for the weakest component in the first gen steering setup - the idler arm. If you plan on offroading your x, it's one of the first mods you should do, particularly if you go to bigger wheels and tires. Easy install, too. Anyone have a pic?

Modified Total Chaos IAB w/SLR steering, Bandit bushings on my truck...

it helps the bushings in the IA from wearing out too fast and the IA pin take a hit...

This sounds more like your turn stops need grease and/or adjustment so no, an IAB would not help.

Awesome!! Thank you. Right now everything is stock. I would like to go wheelin, but not necessarily the Black & Blue trails. Whatever would be a beginner trail to start off, just for kicks. I don't like to break things. LOL

If you look at the bottom knuckle below the TRE you see an adjustable bolt held in place with a lock nut and with a nylon cap. On the LCA you see the “C” shaped “stop” that it hits when turned all the way into it. This is the “turn stop”. It needs to be maintained with grease and new caps now and then or it will make a "horrendous creek sound" when you "over-turn" your steering wheel. Ya might want to check them.

Thanks for the tip Tommy.

While we are talking about IABs.... Longer bolts required? I just put mine on... And the threads are sticking through the end of the nuts but not much. Also, does the IAB eliminate the need for the washer on the bottom of the idler arm?

Yes, the brace takes the place of the washer on the bottom of the Idler Arm. You should be able reuse the bolts.
