Torsion bar trouble...

Was leaving some small trails and wasn't paying attention and landed my front right tire in a very and I mean very small ditch then heard a LOUD pop (embarrassing). But after getting out of the trail, having a tow truck tow the X back to my house 5 miles away and destroying the side of my tire... I get home to realize the torsion bar anchor or either the torsion bar splines are destroyed. Just trying to figure out where to go from here. I had the Sway Away torsion bars I ordered from AC wondering if I need order some other brand or what. I already realize I need to get another set and depending on if the adjusting anchor is destroyed another one of those.

Yeah adjusters are common failure point along with the anchors. I snapped my sway a way bar in half right down the middle. Though if you did that the damage would be obvious. SLR sells cromolly torsion bar adjusters to upgrade the strength. Anchors, all you have is stock. Sway a way torsion bars are all that is available.

Need to find some better adjusting anchors ASAP. Does any one know where to look? I searched all night last night to only find older post on different forums and searching for SLR ones only was giving me dead ends.. really need some help finding these.

i'm surprised your anchor went, i've done some really stupid things with stock bars and everything and never had any issues. Maybe I had good luck? SLR doesn't really pre make components any more the only way to get stuff from him is to have Spencer's direct contact info which I don't have. I think he still makes stuff for people if they need/want it.

Hmmm I think I saw a number to call but also read that SLR went under or some thing. But the only reason I can think of why the adjustable anchors went is because there not as HD as the new t bars or some thing idk lol

Yeah the weight in the form of bumpers or winches is brutal on the front end. His company went under. But last I heard he was trying to get the ball rolling again. Working on getting the buesness going again I see that he is still selling parts via email. Not sure if he still sells them I bought a set from him but that was 2-3 years ago and they were expensive.. Maybe a set of stock ones cryogenicly freezed or something might be a asset.

Did the anchors go, the adjuster or both?
For SLR stuff find "BlueX" (Jason) on the ClubXterra board HERE or "svendog" (Mike) on the Nextterra board HERE, ether one of those guys can get stuff from Spencer (SLR).

Just the adjustment anchor went. Ordered new sway away t bars and a new adjustment anchor so all should be good for awhile definitely need to get HD adjustment anchors in the future.
