Titan engine swap.

I recently came across a YouTuber named Mall_crawlling_X that did a Titan swap to his 2nd Gen. The thing is awesome.

TThe swap included the Titan engine which is a V8 to replace the V6, the vehicle is plated so not just an off road vehicle this thing roams the streets.

My question is how does it pass emissions?

The VK swap is definitely a thing. I know here in CO, I would have to use an 07 ECU so that when the smog junkies connect to the OBD2 it shows as an 07 Nissan. As long as the OBD reads 07 Nissan and passes a sniffer, it's good. Now that CO is a CARB state, you'd probably need OE cats from a v8 Pathy to get to the regular exhaust.

Look up driven desire on fb. That's Brennan Becker's company - he's the main one behind all the VK56 swaps.

I wish I did the vk56 swap when my engine blew, but I had some other big things going on in life at the same time. Didn't have the time to deal with it.

Thanks for all the replies. Not anything I am interested in doing really unless my engine lets go. Just thought it was pretty cool. I guess my question is the X did not come with a V8 so how does it pass the sniffer? The reason I ask is that I looked into dropping a Mercedes Diesel into a Wrangler a few years back and was told it wouldn't pass emissions as the Jeep didn't come with a diesel in the US. So was curios how this could pass? Thanks again everyone.
