Title pretty much explains it all and also a loud popping sounds like it might be coming from transfer case when its under load? I know I have a bad wheel bearing that will be getting fixed this week but not so sure that all the other sounds that I'm hearing are caused by the bearing i'm starting to wonder if its maybe a bad U-joint on the Front axle or possibly a CV-axle/Auto-hub that has gone bad as well. Just trying to see what any one else thinks might be wrong with it before I start trying to fix it since I don't have days to be home and try and work on it like I would want too. Thanks in advance for the help.

Ok the ticking and popping sounds where are they coming from?

When you engage 4wd you said you hear a pop that could be no fluid. Think small first.

First check the boots for holes, if there are no holes in the cv boots they are probably good.
Next take off both hubs and put it in 4x to see if you are getting the same response.
If it goes away after the hubs are pulled it is more likely a bad hub, or just needs cleaning and a little lube.
If it is still there you will have to start at the front and work your way back to the transfercase.

But if I had to put money down, I would bet on it ring a hub.

That's what I'm guessing it is all the cv's look fine and won't budge. If it is the hub what year model hard body had the manual locking ones? Or was it all of them?
