I wondered if this would be brought up. Yes I did.
I wondered if this would be brought up. Yes I did.
I'm curious if my rear driveshaft is going to be too long.
A little from what I've seen. I was hoping I was lifted enough to make up for it but it may still be too long.I was under the impression that the C200 DS's were longer.
That's a lot of money I don't have right now. Looks like I can get an OE 2012 P4X shaft for $150 locally. Since my CV is pretty worn anyways I don't think that seems bad.You should throw down on the Tom woods pinon adapter and get yourself dual U joints.
This is my stock shaft in there. Weight on the axle but not fully compressed.[/ATTACH]
Any of you P4X boys got pictures of how the OE wiring routes under the rear?
I'll look and see tomorrow. It goes straight up to the frame cross member, then over to the drivers side and into the wire harness..... I actually wonder if you don't already have the plug right by the frame.
Sorry to hear itGot it all back together today.
And
The passenger side axle shaft is bent....
Just a pitfall of getting a used axle. I just wish someone made aftermarket shafts for it that were affordable.Sorry to hear it
Probably your best bet.... It's a spendy venture for sure....
Is Nissan the only place to buy rear axle shafts for these things?!?
Didn't see an ad over there. I'll look again in a few though. Thanks for the heads up.Yes, unfortunately, for the Frontier/Xterra m226s. Titan m226 has aftermarket available but too long for us. I found a Dana Spicer catalog and it listed all our m226 shafts as dealer only.
I did find the (open) one I bought on Partsouq, with shipping it ended coming out about the same as any of the dealer ones I could find pre-tax and shipping. Trying to get around to installing it.
Actually, do you have a club Frontier login? I think I saw user Whistler over there post something that he might have an extra e-locker and shafts he’s trying to sell.
I found it! Message him so now we wait. Thanks for the heads up!I don’t think it was in an ad, I was looking through the drivetrain section and he mentioned it in a couple threads.
around $400 each side. What are they from the dealer?
$480 shipped is the best price I can find.around $400 each side.
That SUCK'S , do you have to replace both side's since one side would have some wear from a lot of mile's or can you get away with replacing just one side ? I ask question's like this to help gain a little bit more knowledge along with the I'm curious factor ??$480 shipped is the best price I can find.
Just the bent one. If it was a bearing I'd just replace the bad parts but the shaft is wrecked and I can't find a replacement anywhere else. That SUCK'S , do you have to replace both side's since one side would have some wear from a lot of mile's or can you get away with replacing just one side ? Wow that's a lot!Axle shaft ordered. $498 by the time tax and shipping was added.
It's supposed to be nicer tomorrow than it was today. I'm going to be smoking a pork butt and may try to start sorting out the wiring for the locker. Maybe I can get that mostly done and be ready to really test this thing out once the shaft arrives.
Yeah... it hurt...Wow that's a lot!
It's more of a question of numbers. Every Titan ever had a 226 in it. Only a handful of Xs did. And even fewer locked ones.Yeah... it hurt...
I'm a little upset you can get Yukon and Dana stuff for the Titan but Nissan has the Xterra stuff locked down.
That only really works if you swap in the Titan rear though. All the more reason to TS
Have you thought about looking at a marine supply store for wire's and breaker's . West Marine handle's a lot of stuff for electrical wiring ....FINALLY got confirmation that my shaft shipped and it's showing in USPS system. It's not scheduled to be here till Friday which really sucks.... I'm going to have to source my wires locally it looks like. Amazon is showing a delivery date of next month for the wire and circuit breaker I want. I may just piggy back my existing breaker for the time being and add a second one later. My radio doesn't pull near the 40A I wired it for (possibly addition of a HF radio in the future) so I'm not worried about that. I would like them on separate circuits in the future though.
