Supercharger on 2000

i have a 2000, its stock. I would like to put a S/C on it and from what ive read you can put them on the N/A motors with injectors, ECU, and required brackets. My question is will it clear the hood? the 1.5s have that extra hump and i'm not sure how much more clearance i would need with the S/C on. Also how much loss in MPG would i see?

You will need to modify the hood, or get a 1.5 hood to mount on there. Because the 1.5 has the round headlights, you'll have some body work to do to make it match up with the square ones.

RIGHT. i dont have onebut i bet it would fit with one. I didnt even think of that although a 1.5 hood with the extra hump would probably look good on a 1.0

This post shows really well what a 1.5 hood looks like on a 1.0. Granted, you do have to fill the half arc at the front above the headlights.

That being said, a 2" body lift should allow the necessary clearance.

Keep us posted if you do add the supercharger, because I'm curious to see how it comes out.

The s/c 3.3 also has forged pistons, and a different input shaft to the tranny along with a different program in the ECU. And with more hp comes more heat that you have to account for.

Just a couple of things to think about.
