Hey my girlfriend bought a 2000 xterra few weeks ago for a offroad toy /camping rig and on the weekend we took it wheeling no problem then next day on are way home the seat belt light came on well we where driving didn't really think any thing of it and then it went away later on as it got dark she turned like head lights on and the cluster lights where really dim and the radio light was flickering we tryed the dimmer switch nothing worked and then we started smelling something burning so we got it home parked it and I don't have a clue what happen

And driver side window will roll down but not back up again

If any one can point me in a direction to look that be great or if some one had this problem could tell me what's wrong it be awsome thanks

Sounds to me like a flat battery due to a bad alternator. If you have a way to test it, I'd start there. If you have to replace it, get one from an early 00s Quest minivan. They're mo bettah.

Well if the other windows are functioning then clearly your battery can handle the load so it's probably just the motor for that particular window has burnt out.

Whatd ya test the battery with? Autozone does both testings for free. Could also be a bad connection somewhere. I just recently had that problem and it turned out to be a loose bolt. If you press the window button on drivers side can you hear the motor trying to engage? Could be bad motor or bad master switch.

Nvm I found the problem the dimmer switch caught fire and melted in the dash but if anyone knows the driver side window problem still confused

Holy crap! Thankfully it didn't take the rest of the truck with it!

As far as the window, the window regulators are notorious for going bad and causing this problem.
