Need help locating a knock sensor.

So I heard the knock sensor is hiding somewhere deep inside the intake manifold, has anyone gutted their manifold before?

I'm thinking of doing it myself, cause their is no way I'm gonna pay $500 to have it done in the shop.

Any tips/advice would be appreciated! Thank my xterranationers!

If you don't have a supercharger, just bypass it. Not worth the trouble.

Now, with that said, Yes. You have to pull the entire intake manifold. I've only pulled my upper, but a few more bolts and I could've gotten the lower out too. Way too much effort in my mind for a device that doesn't set the CEL (code, yes. light, no), and can be easily dealt with by splicing a resistor in the harness. I'm kinda thinking the $500 is cheap.
